“Hogtown:” nickname for Toronto, Canada based on our long history in pork processing and packing
“Rake:” originally applied to an immoral scoundrel, now meaning a dangerously stylish guy, also “rakish:” living or dressing with a devil-may-care attitude
I am a creative director, writer and broadcaster who is passionate about men’s style and issues. I can speak both to contemporary issues as well as sartorial history, from current trends to the history of bespoke tailoring.
I worked as an arts, sports, music and current events journalist, editor and producer at CBC Radio for thirteen years. My focus was men’s style and men’s issues. I have produced a number of documentaries, features and series on tailoring, masculinity and fatherhood, as well as writing for prominent national newspapers and magazines like The Globe and Mail, Toronto Life, Zoomer, TITLE and Sharp Men’s Magazine. My first book, a history of Walter Beauchamp, Canada’s oldest tailor, was published by Figure 1 in September, 2017. My second book, 10 Garments Every Man Should Own, is due for release March 2021 from Dundurn Press.
I have also taught sessions and seminars in men’s style and grooming as well as working as a personal style consultant. To contact me directly about consulting, teaching or anything else, feel free to send me an email.
