You may have noticed a couple of months back a new ad appear on The Hogtown Rake. In the upper right corner, you can click through to East Dane. When I was approached by their representatives to buy ad space, I had a good look at the company. First, I was impressed by their mission statement:

“Launched in 2013 as the brother site to Shopbop.com, East Dane is a thoughtful, straightforward approach to men’s fashion. We’ll serve up heritage brands and new names to men who are more interested in style than trends—who understand that dressing well comes from a combination of confidence and quality construction.”

Second, I had a look through their catalogue and found many items I either own or want in my wardrobe, classic staples I would recommend, at good prices.

I’m happy to let you know that starting today, April 7 until April 11 you can take 25% off your entire order at East Dane with the code SPRING25.

The stand-out items for me are ties and shoes. Drake’s are English-made, very high quality ties. They are also on the higher end when it comes to price, but this sale brings them to a reasonable level. These two,  a herringbone jacquard and a printed silk are my favourites. Oh, and their white linen pocket square with contrast edges is probably my most used square.

When it comes to shoes, two of my favourite casual summer options are on sale. Espadrilles, the woven Spanish classic, is my beach shoe of choice while the Sperry boat shoe can transition from beach to backyard while still looking elegant. The Sperry Top-Sider, by the way, was the original boat shoe, invented back in 1935 – this one is an updated version:

I usually write about dressy or formal clothes but believe it or not I don’t always where suits and oxfords. A great activewear alternative, when it comes to footwear, are sneakers. East Dane offers two options I’d recommend: the Volley Australia sneaker has a clean, white leather upper while the SeaVees comes in a lovely slate navy linen. Both work well with more casual clothes, especially chinos:

So if you are in the market for any of these items, please take advantage of this sale and help out The Hogtown Rake at the same time. [I do not get any kick-back from sales, just the continued support of the sponsor]
