A selection of my audio storytelling

As I’ve written in my about section, while classic menswear is a passion, my career has been in audio storytelling – as a radio and podcast producer – for over two decades. This first series, the Unbuttoned podcast, was produced independently by myself and Bruce Boyer.

I have been working as a showrunner at Pacific Content for several years, producing a number of podcasts with brands. But this newest series, about the history of Concorde – in which I play a role on-microphone – is the one I am most proud of, both for the story and the use of sound. It was also the winner of the TribecaX 2023 award for Audio Storytelling and the bronze 2023 Signal Award for Branded Documentary.

Another series I’ve worked on at Pacific Content is “Hackable,” as a story producer. I also play a role on microphone in the last season as the host’s sidekick and comedic partner.

As a freelancer, I have also produced three documentaries for CBC Radio One’s “Ideas.” The first, from 2019, traces the history of denim and how it became both ubiquitous in fashion and dangerous to the environment.

The second doc, from 2021, tells the story of The Dandy, as a social, sexual and style rebel, from the 19th century to today, around the world.

My latest doc, from February of 2024, is an in-the-field piece I recorded in Cuba. I travel the country tracing the journey of making a cigar, from seed to roller, to try to understand what tobacco means to Cuba and its future.

I also worked at CBC Radio for over a dozen years, producing and hosting a number of series and documentaries. “Manthropology” from 2011, was a series that ran for a year on local Radio One station across the country.

This short doc on Cuban humidor makers originally aired on CBC Radio’s “The World This Weekend,” March 2015.

This personal essay about my family’s trip to Disneyworld originally aired on CBC Radio One’s “The Sunday Edition”, April 2006.

This documentary, about my first bespoke suit, aired on CBC Radio’s “Living Out Loud” in 2013.
