Understanding Neapolitan tailoring: Pino Peluso jacket

I recently received my first sport jacket from Naples’ master tailor Pino Peluso. I commissioned it last summer while ordering a pair of trousers. The experience of getting the jacket made, which involved an initial consultation in Italy and then a number of fittings in Toronto, revealed Pino’s detailed and idiosyncratic process while upending my long-held and naive perceptions of Neapolitan tailoring.

You can read my entire story on The Parisian Gentleman, as it was the site’s Hugo and Sonya who introduced me to Pino in the first place. I am thankful to them for that, as well as the chance to have my writing featured on their august and seminal blog.

Special thanks to Bo Yang of MAROL for all the photos of my fittings and final jacket.
